Melinda Klayman is a UX Researcher for Google Search. Her focus is Next Billion Users, which includes different sorts of people coming online for the first time: people in countries where infrastructure improvements have recently made it possible, teenagers who are just now old enough to get a smartphone, older generations who tend to be late adopters, or women in conservative cultures whose society is becoming more accepting. Melinda loves meeting people with different perspectives, and explaining their points of view to the teams who build technology for them. Prior to Google, Melinda worked in mobile technology at HTC, Sony, and Palm. She holds an MA from University of Texas at Austin and BA from University of California at Santa Cruz. She currently lives in London with her husband and daughter.
