All the way from San Fransico, Garen Checkley has worked with some true juggernauts of design, Google and YouTube. Mastering Theatre Design, Political Science and Business at Northwestern University, Garen is a perfect blend of intertwining disciplines, helping him climb up the ranks from working with scientists to developers.
Currently Garen works with Google designing for emerging markets like Pakistan. This is a key demographic for companies like Google with internet accessibility on the rise. He’s not new in this field, he worked on emerging markets with YouTube as well with over 5 years under his belt. Garen understands the intricacies of designing for foreign and complex demographics. He brings the right skillset and tools to the table to help tackle designing experiences for customer-facing products.
Before entering the world of Google, Garen worked at the San Diego Supercomputer Centre, designing scientist-facing UI and UX. Truly a complex demographic, Garen’s command over understanding an array of demographics and channelling their needs into his design is truly astounding.
There is much to learn from Garen, and we aim to do exactly that by flying him to UX Pakistan 2019!
